Going for a hike on the White Horse Trail is always a great adventure, and if you're here, you could stop by Benson Branch. Get drenched paddling on Patapsco River - South Branch, and you'll almost certainly meet some people from Baltimore-Towson here. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Valley Trail; Johns Hopkins Pond is a tremendous site to visit for more than one day, Scotts Cove Campground is a tremendous site to camp nearby.

| | So many entertaining things to do at Johns Hopkins Pond, so little time. Paddling on Patuxent River is so much fun, and a beautiful lake like Triadelphia Reservoir is a magnificent place to take a look at. Stay the night at Sports International; Greenbelt Park is a nice local destination. cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's while Johns Hopkins Pond overnight low temperatures throughout the wintertime are in the 10's. Go for a hike on the Western Ridge Trail, and enjoy a round of golf at Hobbit's
Glen Golf Club. Just can't get enough of Johns Hopkins Pond. Do go to Johns Hopkins University Dam if you're here at Johns Hopkins Pond, and after a long day outdoors Inn at Peralynna Manor is a great place to spend a night or two.
All the water falling down from the sky makes Johns Hopkins Pond a wet place; the month with most of the rain is May, and January meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes are such calm locations, why not pop by Wilde Lake in the vicinity of Johns Hopkins Pond, and dry warm beds await you at Turf Valley Resort.

Greenbelt Lake
 | 13 miles away I often take my kids to the park at Greenbelt Lake. The playground is very big and they have a ton of fun. There are things there suitable for all kids ages. We also go around the lake, me running and them riding thier bikes. the trail and lake are beautiful and shaded - which is wonderful during the hot days in the summer.... |

Burba Lake
 | 15 miles away 1 PHOTO ... large and small groups. A well-maintained path runs around the entire lake where you can normally find soldiers, retirees and their families out for a stroll or a leisurely run. We can all thank the tightening of security due to terrorism for making the lake's having less access. You must have proper ID (Government/Military issued ID) to enter the post, unless it is pre-arranged such as for family reunions and such. The Ft. Meade MWR people take good care of the lake and it's surroundings and nature teems. You will normally find ducks and geese swimming in the lake, some have made it their home. Migratory birds also have put this lake on their itinerary! There is fishing in the lake and also a healthy turtle population. Beavers also have taken up residence in one area and by some of the ''missing'' trees you can tell that they have been there. There is also a resident blue heron that can often be found on the shore of the lake or amongst the greenery on the little island in the middle.
