I have passed the Lake many times on my way to Gettysburg. I plan on visiting this weekend for the first time.

Drove into this area while on my honeymoon 12 years ago. BEAUTIFUL!I have been visiting yearly since then. More crowded now, I guess beautiful areas don't stay unseen for long.A group of us will be there early tomorrow morning.

    In Maryland there are many beautiful lakes, Hunting Creek Lake is one of them. This lake is so wonderful. Catoctin Mountain Park is one of the destinations close to Hunting Creek Lake that are delightful to go to; on a good day you can take a hike along the Spiderbush Nature Trail. For the period of the warm months highs here at Hunting Creek Lake get into the 80's with overnight lows in the 60's. For the duration of the winter the highs are usually in the 30's,  
   and overnight lows in the 10's for Hunting Creek Lake. An average amount of rainfall falls at Hunting Creek Lake; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain; February is the month with the least moisture.
There's so much to do here at Hunting Creek Lake that you need to camp here for a while, William Houck Campground is a wonderful place for that, and glide down the rapids of Hunting Creek in a kayak. This place is excellent, just check out all
 
               the amusing things to do near Hunting Creek Lake. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Owens Creek, and Cunningham Falls is a magnificent local attraction. If you need a place to stay Thurmont Super 8 Motel is a tremendous choice.
This lake is so wonderful. Take a little trip to Bear Branch since you're here at Hunting Creek Lake, and Bobs Hill is clearly visible from Hunting Creek Lake. Everybody close by loves skiing at Ski Liberty; a pretty lake like Lake Royer is a brilliant place to stop by. Any time is a great time at Hunting Creek Lake if you have a thing about the outdoors. Lakes are such calm locations, why not have a look at Frank Bentz Memorial Lake near Hunting Creek Lake, and going for a hike along the Cunningham Falls Nature Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood.
Don't leave Hunting Creek Lake without first checking out Wolf Rock, and you can stay the night at Cunningham Falls State Park. People from Gettysburg love to come to Hunting Creek Lake, and Hunting Creek Dam is not far at all from Hunting Creek Lake. Carroll Valley Resort is a good location to get some rest, and if the weather is magnificent, you can go for a hike along the High Rock Nature Trail.
