If you came to camp Millersville Koa Kampground is a splendid location to do that, and a brilliant close by hotel is Super 8 Annapolis MD. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike along the Boxes Point Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area, and Letha Ponds is a nearby lake that you could visit. The high level of precipitation makes Hines Ponds a reasonably wet place; through the month of May you get the most rain around here, and the

| | driest month of the year is February. Summertime highs at Hines Ponds usually tend to be in the 80's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Hines Ponds. If the weather is great here at Hines Ponds, you can go for a hike along the Duck Inn Trail. at, R J Campground is a great local campground. There's whitewater on Gunpowder Falls for all you adrenaline junkies, and if you're looking for a beach close by we recommend Gibson Island Beach. This lake is so wonderful. You
might want to pay a visit to Rock Point Shoal while you're here at Hines Ponds; taking a little tour to nearby First Cove is a great idea. If you need a location to stay Comfort Inn Annapolis is a great choice, and if you get bored
of Hines Ponds you could also go to nearby White Pond. You assume that's enough? Just getting warmed up. There are some delightful whitewater spots on Herring Run; a perfect swamp next to Hines Ponds is Hines Pond Bog.

Burba Lake
 | 18 miles away 1 PHOTO ...d small groups. A well-maintained path runs around the entire lake where you can normally find soldiers, retirees and their families out for a stroll or a leisurely run. We can all thank the tightening of security due to terrorism for making the lake's having less access. You must have proper ID (Government/Military issued ID) to enter the post, unless it is pre-arranged such as for family reunions and such. The Ft. Meade MWR people take good care of the lake and it's surroundings and nature teems. You will normally find ducks and geese swimming in the lake, some have made it their home. Migratory birds also have put this lake on their itinerary! There is fishing in the lake and also a healthy turtle population. Beavers also have taken up residence in one area and by some of the ''missing'' trees you can tell that they have been there. There is also a resident blue heron that can often be found on the shore of the lake or amongst the greenery on the little island in the middle.
