This lake is so wonderful. There's tremendous hiking along the Paw Paw Passage Trail; some of the water close by flows, like Rich Branch. Summertime highs at Lake Helene generally tend to be in the 80's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. For the period of the winter this place gets highs in the 30's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Lake Helene temperatures descend to the 20's. | |

the event that you don't mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Potomac River.
