is a brilliant place to do that; a lake nearby is Moreland Pond. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Hagerstown City Park Lake, and the overnight is rather colder of course, typically in the 60's. The winter brings highs down to
the 40's, and night lows at Hagerstown City Park Lake all through the winter commonly sink into the 20's. Hagerstown City Park Lake usually gets lots of precipitation; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain;
the driest of the months is February. This lake is so wonderful. There is a good hiking trail close to Hagerstown City Park Lake called the Left Trail; Chews Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop by. If you're here at Hagerstown

A well-maintained path runs around the entire lake where you can normally find soldiers, retirees and their families out for a stroll or a leisurely run. We can all thank the tightening of security due to terrorism for making the lake's having less access. You must have proper ID (Government/Military issued ID) to enter the post, unless it is pre-arranged such as for family reunions and such. The Ft. Meade MWR people take good care of the lake and it's surroundings and nature teems. You will normally find ducks and geese swimming in the lake, some have made it their home. Migratory birds also have put this lake on their itinerary! There is fishing in the lake and also a healthy turtle population. Beavers also have taken up residence in one area and by some of the ''missing'' trees you can tell that they have been there. There is also a resident blue heron that can often be found on the shore of the lake or amongst the greenery on the little island in the middle.
