BALTIMORE INN AT COLONNADE is a good site to get some rest, and why not camp at Timer Ridge if you're here at Guilford Reservoir. If you go for the outdoors, you'll like Guilford Reservoir. Dry warm beds await you at Hopkins Inn Est.1911, and Guilford Reservoir is not the only place close by, Cochrans Pond is a close by lake. There's some flowing water close by, Stony Run is a stream you can pop by during your stay, and there are plenty of folks from Baltimore-Towson

This lake is so wonderful. Visiting Greenbelt Park is just something you need to do if you haven't yet. This lake is so wonderful. If you came for an overnight stay Patapsco Valley State Park is a magnificent site to camp, and if you get bored of Guilford Reservoir you could also stop at close by Druid Lake. Reservoir you can play some golf at Clifton Park Golf Course; if you come at the right time of year, Herring Run offers some brilliant whitewater.
For the period of the summer at Guilford Reservoir highs are ordinarily in the
80's while overnight lows are frequently in the 60's. All through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Guilford Reservoir are in the 20's. Guilford Reservoir is a good place of common rain; most of the rain falls during May; the driest month is February.

...ties for large and small groups. A well-maintained path runs around the entire lake where you can normally find soldiers, retirees and their families out for a stroll or a leisurely run. We can all thank the tightening of security due to terrorism for making the lake's having less access. You must have proper ID (Government/Military issued ID) to enter the post, unless it is pre-arranged such as for family reunions and such. The Ft. Meade MWR people take good care of the lake and it's surroundings and nature teems. You will normally find ducks and geese swimming in the lake, some have made it their home. Migratory birds also have put this lake on their itinerary! There is fishing in the lake and also a healthy turtle population. Beavers also have taken up residence in one area and by some of the ''missing'' trees you can tell that they have been there. There is also a resident blue heron that can often be found on the shore of the lake or amongst the greenery on the little island in the middle. All in all, though I'm not a great writer...this is a wonderful and serene place... |

Regular camping fees at this time (06/08) are $16/night. I have been camping at Greenbelt Park every summer for a week for the last 7 years. It was always at $14 up till last year when it went up to $16. Great Park though! Love it!... |
