What a nice lake Greenbelt Lake is. Float down the rapids of Anacostia River - Northwest Branch in a kayak, and a tremendous site to camp here at Greenbelt Lake is Scotts Cove Campground. Just can't get enough of Greenbelt Lake. Dry warm beds await you at Residence Inn By Marriott Greenbelt, and enjoy a round of golf at Cross Creek Golf Club. All through the days of summer here at Greenbelt Lake, high temperatures regularly get into the 80's. For the duration

| | of the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 60's. For the duration of the wintertime highs are usually in the 40's; overnight lows through the winter for Greenbelt Lake tend to be in the 20's. Park is a great local campground, and after a long day outdoors Hilton Garden Inn Washington DC/Greenbelt is a perfect spot to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes are pleasant; SCS Lake is a lake that's close
to Greenbelt Lake, and paddling on Anacostia River is so much fun. Greenbelt Lake is right by the Valley Trail, and lots of folks from Washington-Arlington-Alexandria come here. Greenbelt Lake sees pretty high levels of rain; the
wettest month of the year is regularly May, that's the one that rains the most while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Hiking along the Western Ridge Trail is splendid fun, and at Greenbelt Dam close
to Greenbelt Lake there are some out of the ordinary things to see. This lake is so wonderful. All our national parks are pleasant locations to visit, and Greenbelt Park is no exception, and swing by Beaverdam Creek it's a pleasant site to explore.

 | I often take my kids to the park at Greenbelt Lake. The playground is very big and they have a ton of fun. There are things there suitable for all kids ages. We also go around the lake, me running and them riding thier bikes. the trail and lake are beautiful and shaded - which is wonderful during the hot days in the summer.... |

 | I live near Scotts Cove and have never seen a camp ground there. This is a reservoir.? Nor is there skiing at this location.? It is a beautiful area for locals to picnic at and take a walk.... |
Burba Lake
 | 11 miles away 1 PHOTO ... small groups. A well-maintained path runs around the entire lake where you can normally find soldiers, retirees and their families out for a stroll or a leisurely run. We can all thank the tightening of security due to terrorism for making the lake's having less access. You must have proper ID (Government/Military issued ID) to enter the post, unless it is pre-arranged such as for family reunions and such. The Ft. Meade MWR people take good care of the lake and it's surroundings and nature teems. You will normally find ducks and geese swimming in the lake, some have made it their home. Migratory birds also have put this lake on their itinerary! There is fishing in the lake and also a healthy turtle population. Beavers also have taken up residence in one area and by some of the ''missing'' trees you can tell that they have been there. There is also a resident blue heron that can often be found on the shore of the lake or amongst the greenery on the little island in the middle.
