The playground is very big and they have a ton of fun. There are things there suitable for all kids ages. We also go around the lake, me running and them riding thier bikes. the trail and lake are beautiful and shaded - which is wonderful during the hot days in the summer. The Western Ridge Trail offers hiking at its best, and Anacostia River has a good whitewater paddling spot close by. There's splendid hiking along the Valley Trail; whitewater paddling is wonderful on Anacostia River - Northwest Branch. If time allows, Greenbelt Park is a national park worth stopping at; Greenbelt Lake is glorious enough to spend more than a day at, Cherry Hill       Park is a glorious local campground. Good hiking is available along the White Horse Trail, and you'll meet a lot of folks from Washington-Arlington-Alexandria here. This place rocks, just check out all the exciting stuff to do near Greenbelt Lake. After a long day outdoors Courtyard By Marriott Greenbelt is a good site to spend a night or two; camping at Scotts Cove Campground is always a fine experience. Summertime highs at Greenbelt Lake regularly                  tend to be in the 80's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 60's. Highs during the wintertime are regularly in the 40's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Greenbelt Lake descend into the 20's. This lake is so perfect. If you're interested in hydro structures, you can go to Greenbelt Dam, and Cross Creek Golf Club is a great golf course close by. A great deal of rainfall falls at Greenbelt Lake; the month with most of the rain is May while January is usually the driest month.
