Looking for some flowing water? Try Hockley Branch, and a trip to nearby Arnold Point is very relaxing. An average amount of precipitation falls at Foster Pond; May is the month that gets the most rain while February is usually the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes are such calm places, why not go to Elizabeth Pond in the vicinity of Foster Pond, and the top of Mount Misery is easily distinguished from Foster Pond. That right there is heaps already,

A round of golf at nearby Annapolis Country Club is a glorious way to kill some time, and you'll possibly meet some folks from Baltimore-Towson here. Greenbelt Park is a great national park. lake is so wonderful. Ferry Point Yacht Club is not far at all from Foster Pond, and after a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites ANNAPOLIS is a magnificent spot to spend a night or two. A beautiful lake like Fox Pond
in the neighborhood of Foster Pond is a fine place to stop at, and you can run the rapids of Gwynns Falls. All through the warmest time of the year, highs mostly are in the 80's at Foster Pond. All through the moonlight hours
it's typically in the 60's. Through the winter highs are in the 40's, and overnight lows at Foster Pond all through the winter mostly drop into the 20's. A magnificent place to camp here at Foster Pond is Holiday Mobile Estates, and on a wonderful day it's a brilliant idea to spend the day at Severn Beach.

Burba Lake
 | 15 miles away 1 PHOTO ...ade army post is a beautiful nature preserve with picnic facilities for large and small groups. A well-maintained path runs around the entire lake where you can normally find soldiers, retirees and their families out for a stroll or a leisurely run. We can all thank the tightening of security due to terrorism for making the lake's having less access. You must have proper ID (Government/Military issued ID) to enter the post, unless it is pre-arranged such as for family reunions and such. The Ft. Meade MWR people take good care of the lake and it's surroundings and nature teems. You will normally find ducks and geese swimming in the lake, some have made it their home. Migratory birds also have put this lake on their itinerary! There is fishing in the lake and also a healthy turtle population. Beavers also have taken up residence in one area and by some of the ''missing'' trees you can tell that they have been there. There is also a resident blue heron that can often be found on the shore of the lake or amongst the greenery on the little island in the middle. All in all, thoug... |
