Not far from Emmitsburg Reservoir you can enjoy the trees of Blacks Hilltop Orchard; there's some flowing water close by, Friends Creek is a stream you can stop by while here.       Emmitsburg Reservoir is a place with many visitors from Gettysburg, and why not spend some time golfing at a close by golf course like Mountain View Golf Club. What a location this is for outdoors people. The view of Carrick Knob from Emmitsburg Reservoir is wonderful, and if you need a place to stay Sleep Inn , Inn & Suites is a great choice. An average amount of precipitation falls at Emmitsburg Reservoir; all through the month of May you get the most rain                  around here, and February is when it's the driest. K Section Pond is a nearby lake that you could stop at, and don't leave Emmitsburg Reservoir without first going for a hike along the Cunningham Falls Nature Trail. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Owens Creek, and Catoctin Mountain Park is a good local destination. This lake is so wonderful. During the warm days of summer at Emmitsburg Reservoir temperatures are ordinarily in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 60's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Emmitsburg Reservoir are in the 10's.
