You'll stumble on a stunning lake called Hidden Pond near Duck Pond, and Lake Waterford Dam has magnificent water scenery. It's a wonderful idea to stop by Chartwell Branch, it's near Duck Pond, and for you golfers we recommend close by Chartwell Golf & Country Club. A great site to camp here at Duck Pond is Holiday Mobile Estates, and get covered with water paddling on Herring Run. Looking for a nice spree? Greenbelt Park is rather in the vicinity of Duck Pond,

| | and Days Inn Glen Burnie is a pleasant spot to get some rest.
At Duck Pond through the days of summer highs are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 60's. Highs all through the winter are ordinarily in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Duck Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Do schedule some time to have a look at Forked Creek near Duck Pond if you have a chance, and paddling on Gwynns Falls is so much fun. Duck Pond | |

usually gets a lot of rain; all through May this area sees the most rain; January on the other hand is the driest.
This lake is so wonderful. A brilliant nearby hotel is Hampton Inn Baltimore/Glen Burnie; Duck Pond is good enough
to spend more than a day at, Millersville Koa Kampground is a good local campground. This place, Duck Pond, it completely has so much outdoors cool stuff. Do check out Bunks Pond close to Duck Pond, it's a pretty lake, and you'll meet a lot of folks from Baltimore-Towson here.

...ith picnic facilities for large and small groups. A well-maintained path runs around the entire lake where you can normally find soldiers, retirees and their families out for a stroll or a leisurely run. We can all thank the tightening of security due to terrorism for making the lake's having less access. You must have proper ID (Government/Military issued ID) to enter the post, unless it is pre-arranged such as for family reunions and such. The Ft. Meade MWR people take good care of the lake and it's surroundings and nature teems. You will normally find ducks and geese swimming in the lake, some have made it their home. Migratory birds also have put this lake on their itinerary! There is fishing in the lake and also a healthy turtle population. Beavers also have taken up residence in one area and by some of the ''missing'' trees you can tell that they have been there. There is also a resident blue heron that can often be found on the shore of the lake or amongst the greenery on the little island in the middle. All in all, though I'm not a great writer...this is a wonderful... |

Regular camping fees at this time (06/08) are $16/night. I have been camping at Greenbelt Park every summer for a week for the last 7 years. It was always at $14 up till last year when it went up to $16. Great Park though! Love it!... |
