Don't leave Collington Lake without first going for a hike along the Loop Trail, and some close by water includes Bald Hill Branch. Go for a hike on the Magnolia Trail, and if you're looking for a splendid tour, Greenbelt Park is rather near. High temperatures at Collington Lake through the long summer days are in the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. | | in the 20's overnight here at Collington Lake. Collington Lake sees pretty high levels of rain; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month is January. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Panhandle Trail, and this is a popular spot for folks from Washington-Arlington-Alexandria. for you golfers we recommend nearby Bowie Golf & Country Club. Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites I-95 CAPITOL BELTWAY-LARGO is a tremendous location to get some rest, and there are some glorious whitewater spots on Anacostia River.
This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Radisson Hotel Largo-Washington DC is a fine choice, and if you get bored of Collington Lake you could also stop at nearby Alter Pond. So many enjoyable things to do at Collington
Lake, so little time. Not far from Collington Lake you obtain some fine water scenery at Northampton Lake Dam, and Collington Lake is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, Duncan's Family Campground is a delightful local
campground. Just can't get enough of Collington Lake. Northampton Lake is a nearby lake that you could check out. There's so much to do here at Collington Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Cherry Hill Park is a great place for that.

 | I often take my kids to the park at Greenbelt Lake. The playground is very big and they have a ton of fun. There are things there suitable for all kids ages. We also go around the lake, me running and them riding thier bikes. the trail and lake are beautiful and shaded - which is wonderful during the hot days in the summer.... |
Burba Lake
 | 11 miles away 1 PHOTO ...roups. A well-maintained path runs around the entire lake where you can normally find soldiers, retirees and their families out for a stroll or a leisurely run. We can all thank the tightening of security due to terrorism for making the lake's having less access. You must have proper ID (Government/Military issued ID) to enter the post, unless it is pre-arranged such as for family reunions and such. The Ft. Meade MWR people take good care of the lake and it's surroundings and nature teems. You will normally find ducks and geese swimming in the lake, some have made it their home. Migratory birds also have put this lake on their itinerary! There is fishing in the lake and also a healthy turtle population. Beavers also have taken up residence in one area and by some of the ''missing'' trees you can tell that they have been there. There is also a resident blue heron that can often be found on the shore of the lake or amongst the greenery on the little island in the middle.  | 12 miles away I live near Scotts Cove and have never seen a camp ground there. This is a reservoir.? Nor is there skiing at this location.? It is a beautiful area for locals to picnic at and take a walk.... |
