Maryland has many beautiful lakes and Collington Lake is one of them. Why not pop by close by Bald Hill Branch since you're here at Collington Lake, and if you need a site to stay Radisson Hotel Largo-Washington DC is a great choice. During your visit to Collington Lake you'll meet some folks from Washington-Arlington-Alexandria for sure, and nearby you come across the Panhandle Trail which is a good hiking trail. There are some nice whitewater spots on Anacostia

The Magnolia Trail is a good hiking trail near Collington Lake, and if you come at the right time of year, Anacostia River offers some fine whitewater. The high level of precipitation makes Collington Lake a reasonably wet place; May is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest of the months is January. worth stopping at; Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites I-95 CAPITOL BELTWAY-LARGO is a perfect place to get some rest. Now, you may assume that's heaps but there's even more amusing stuff to do here at Collington Lake. This lake
is so wonderful. Collington Lake is not the only place close by, Alter Pond is a close by lake; as expected, all our national parks are magnificent spots to stop at and Greenbelt Park is no exception. This lake is so wonderful. There
is a brilliant hiking trail right next door to Collington Lake called the Loop Trail. There's so much to do here at Collington Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Duncan's Family Campground is a tremendous location for that.
I don't want to stop, cause I'm havin' a great time here at Collington Lake. A round of golf at nearby Bowie Golf & Country Club is a glorious way to kill some time. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Collington Lake
has to offer, you can camp at Cherry Hill Park. At Collington Lake all through the days of summer highs are in the 80's, and all through the night it cools down to the 60's. For the duration of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's, and overnight lows during the winter for Collington Lake tend to be in the 20's.

Greenbelt Lake
 | I often take my kids to the park at Greenbelt Lake. The playground is very big and they have a ton of fun. There are things there suitable for all kids ages. We also go around the lake, me running and them riding thier bikes. the trail and lake are beautiful and shaded - which is wonderful during the hot days in the summer.... |
Burba Lake
 | 11 miles away 1 PHOTO ...serve with picnic facilities for large and small groups. A well-maintained path runs around the entire lake where you can normally find soldiers, retirees and their families out for a stroll or a leisurely run. We can all thank the tightening of security due to terrorism for making the lake's having less access. You must have proper ID (Government/Military issued ID) to enter the post, unless it is pre-arranged such as for family reunions and such. The Ft. Meade MWR people take good care of the lake and it's surroundings and nature teems. You will normally find ducks and geese swimming in the lake, some have made it their home. Migratory birds also have put this lake on their itinerary! There is fishing in the lake and also a healthy turtle population. Beavers also have taken up residence in one area and by some of the ''missing'' trees you can tell that they have been there. There is also a resident blue heron that can often be found on the shore of the lake or amongst the greenery on the little island in the middle. Scotts Cove Campground
 | 12 miles away I live near Scotts Cove and have never seen a camp ground there. This is a reservoir.? Nor is there skiing at this location.? It is a beautiful area for locals to picnic at and take a walk.... |
