If you are in Baltimore county it's always a good idea to stop by Cochrans Pond. Timer Ridge is a splendid local campground, and Lake Roland Dam is charming. Roland Run is a gorgeous stream that is worth a visit; there are plenty of people from Baltimore-Towson here at Cochrans Pond. A common amount of rainfall falls here at Cochrans Pond; the month with most of the rain is May, and February meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. A spree

| | to Greenbelt Park is worthwhile, and dry warm beds await you at Mt. Washington Conference Center. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the cool things at Cochrans Pond. While you're here at Cochrans Pond, you could also check out delightful Lake Roland, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Gwynns Falls. Pond reach the 80's with nighttime lows in the 60's. High temperatures throughout the wintertime are normally in the 30's; all through the dark hours in the wintertime at Cochrans Pond temperatures dip to the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. Radisson Hotel At Cross Keys is a fine place to get some rest.

Burba Lake
 | 16 miles away 1 PHOTO ...ure preserve with picnic facilities for large and small groups. A well-maintained path runs around the entire lake where you can normally find soldiers, retirees and their families out for a stroll or a leisurely run. We can all thank the tightening of security due to terrorism for making the lake's having less access. You must have proper ID (Government/Military issued ID) to enter the post, unless it is pre-arranged such as for family reunions and such. The Ft. Meade MWR people take good care of the lake and it's surroundings and nature teems. You will normally find ducks and geese swimming in the lake, some have made it their home. Migratory birds also have put this lake on their itinerary! There is fishing in the lake and also a healthy turtle population. Beavers also have taken up residence in one area and by some of the ''missing'' trees you can tell that they have been there. There is also a resident blue heron that can often be found on the shore of the lake or amongst the greenery on the little island in the middle. All in all, though I'm not a great writer...this ... |
