Clifton, and Greenbelt Park is a great local destination. Don't leave Lake (historical) Clifton without first paying a visit to Hall Spring. There's so much to do here at Lake (historical) Clifton that you need to camp here for a
while, Timer Ridge is a perfect place for that. Dry warm beds await you at The Inn At Henderson's Wharf; you can run the rapids of Jones Falls. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at nearby Lake Montebello,
and after a long day outdoors Bridgestreet Corporate Housing Lancaster Square is a nice location to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. Get your heart pumping on the wonderful whitewater of Herring Run; lots of people
from Baltimore-Towson come here. Some of the water close by flows, like Chinquapin Run. Lakes? Sure, Lake Montebello is around here.

Burba Lake
 | 15 miles away 1 PHOTO ...my post is a beautiful nature preserve with picnic facilities for large and small groups. A well-maintained path runs around the entire lake where you can normally find soldiers, retirees and their families out for a stroll or a leisurely run. We can all thank the tightening of security due to terrorism for making the lake's having less access. You must have proper ID (Government/Military issued ID) to enter the post, unless it is pre-arranged such as for family reunions and such. The Ft. Meade MWR people take good care of the lake and it's surroundings and nature teems. You will normally find ducks and geese swimming in the lake, some have made it their home. Migratory birds also have put this lake on their itinerary! There is fishing in the lake and also a healthy turtle population. Beavers also have taken up residence in one area and by some of the ''missing'' trees you can tell that they have been there. There is also a resident blue heron that can often be found on the shore of the lake or amongst the greenery on the little island in the middle. All in all, though I'm ... |

 | 26 miles away Regular camping fees at this time (06/08) are $16/night. I have been camping at Greenbelt Park every summer for a week for the last 7 years. It was always at $14 up till last year when it went up to $16. Great Park though! Love it!... |
