Beautiful Chews Lake has much to offer visitors. But wait, there's more to do near Chews Lake. Going for a hike on the Cross Road Trail is always a magnificent adventure, and Chews Lake is not far at all from Washington-Arlington-Alexandria. If you came for an overnight stay Duncan's Family Campground is a splendid site to camp, and dry warm beds await you at Executive Inn and Suites. This lake is so wonderful. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Anacostia River, and Cedarville State Park is a pleasant local campground. Through the warm days of summer at Chews Lake temperatures are generally in the 80's. Once
the sun is down it drops down to the 60's. During the winter this place gets highs in the 40's, and nighttime lows all through the wintertime for Chews Lake tend to be in the 20's. A quick journey to Black Walnut Creek near Chews
Lake is a great idea; the Magnolia Trail is a good hiking trail close by.
Chews Lake is a rather wet place commonly with lots of rain; August is the month that gets the most rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month.
