Cat Pond is a lake worth visiting. This lake is so wonderful. Near Cat Pond you discover the West Trail which is a great hiking trail, and stopping by Fort Washington Park is just something you need to do if you haven't yet. At Cat Pond you always meet someone from Washington-Arlington-Alexandria, and camping at Cat Pond is delightful fun, Harmony Place Trailer Park is a delightful local campground. highs in the 80's to Cat Pond. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 70's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Cat Pond are in the 20's.
This lake is so wonderful. There
are swamps here too; Pages Swamp is around here; Cat Pond is a good location to camp, Aqua Land Campgrounds is a good location. Hampshire Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop by, and a fine place for whitewater paddling is Rock
Creek.
There are great locations to explore along the South Trail, and you can run the rapids of Anacostia River.
