Here at Blue Pond you'll almost certainly meet some folks from Washington-Arlington-Alexandria; Hampton Inn Laurel MD is a brilliant spot to get some rest. A lot of precipitation falls at Blue Pond; the wettest month of the year is commonly May, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest of the months is January. This lake is so wonderful. | | course nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Valley Trail. There's so much to do here at Blue Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Scotts Cove Campground is a great place for that. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Blue Pond; White Horse Trail is a delightful local trail, and if you need a place to stay Fairfield Inn Laurel is a fine choice. neighborhood of Blue Pond. Whitewater paddling is good on Little Patuxent River; as expected, this is a tremendous vicinity for folks who like lakes, SCS Lake is a lake nearby. All through the long summer days highs here at Blue
Pond get into the 80's, and the nighttime is a tad colder of course, usually in the 60's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 40's, and overnight lows through the wintertime for Blue Pond tend to be in the 20's. Take a
hike on the Western Ridge Trail; if you came to camp Cherry Hill Park is a nice place to do that. Paddling on Patuxent River is so much fun; do pay a visit to Greenbelt Park since you're here at Blue Pond.

Greenbelt Lake
 | I often take my kids to the park at Greenbelt Lake. The playground is very big and they have a ton of fun. There are things there suitable for all kids ages. We also go around the lake, me running and them riding thier bikes. the trail and lake are beautiful and shaded - which is wonderful during the hot days in the summer.... |
Scotts Cove Campground
 | I live near Scotts Cove and have never seen a camp ground there. This is a reservoir.? Nor is there skiing at this location.? It is a beautiful area for locals to picnic at and take a walk.... |
Burba Lake
 | 1 PHOTO ...ge and small groups. A well-maintained path runs around the entire lake where you can normally find soldiers, retirees and their families out for a stroll or a leisurely run. We can all thank the tightening of security due to terrorism for making the lake's having less access. You must have proper ID (Government/Military issued ID) to enter the post, unless it is pre-arranged such as for family reunions and such. The Ft. Meade MWR people take good care of the lake and it's surroundings and nature teems. You will normally find ducks and geese swimming in the lake, some have made it their home. Migratory birds also have put this lake on their itinerary! There is fishing in the lake and also a healthy turtle population. Beavers also have taken up residence in one area and by some of the ''missing'' trees you can tell that they have been there. There is also a resident blue heron that can often be found on the shore of the lake or amongst the greenery on the little island in the middle.
