There's so much to do here at Blairs Valley Lake that you need to camp here for a while, McCoys Ferry Campground is a good site for that; the Lockard Trail is a nice hiking trail nearby. If you don't mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Sleepy Creek, and a perfect nearby hotel is Holiday Inn Express Martinsburg North, Wv. This lake is so wonderful. Near Blairs Valley Lake you       hit upon good spots like Bear Pond Hollow; you'll meet a lot of folks from Hagerstown-Martinsburg here. You truly should go for Blairs Valley Lake. An average amount of rainfall falls at Blairs Valley Lake; May is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is February. A splendid panorama of charming Gillians Knob is available from Blairs Valley Lake, and if the weather is great, you can go for a hike along the Plank Trail.
