For the duration of the summer months highs here at Big Pool get into the 80's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's while Big Pool night low temperatures throughout the wintertime are in the 10's. So much exciting stuff near Big Pool, just fantastic. Dry warm beds await you at Sleep Inn & Suites Clear Spring; on a delightful       day you can take a hike along the Lincoln Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at McCoys Ferry Campground; if you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Back Creek. From a rain point of view Big Pool is a quite typical place; May is the month that gets the most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. Back Creek is near Big Pool and is always a joy to go to, and camping at Indian                  Springs Kampgrounds is always a glorious experience. Going for a hike on the Lockard Trail is always a magnificent adventure. You'll meet a lot of people from Hagerstown-Martinsburg here, and Sleepy Creek has a perfect whitewater paddling spot nearby.
