Why not check out nearby Back Creek since you're here at Big Pool, and camping at Big Pool is wonderful fun, McCoys Ferry Campground is a wonderful local campground. At Big Pool during the summer months highs are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 60's. Highs during       the winter are generally in the 30's with temperatures at Big Pool dipping down into the 10's during winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Martinsburg Knights Inn; the Lincoln Trail offers hiking at its best. While you're here at Big Pool you will meet lots of folks from close by Hagerstown-Martinsburg, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Plank Trail. Get your heart pumping on the good whitewater of Back Creek, and                  do take a hike on the Lockard Trail. Why not camp at Indian Springs Kampgrounds if you're here at Big Pool; after a long day outdoors Rodeway Inn Martinsburg is a great place to spend a night or two. Big Pool gets a normal amount of yearly precipitation; the month with most of the rain is May, and February on the other hand is the driest.
