Longview Golf Course. Through the days of summer, highs generally are in the 80's at Beaverdam Pond. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's with temperatures at Beaverdam Pond dipping down into the 20's throughout winter nights.

 | This is a very forgiving and beautiful stretch of river; however, there are a number of strainers to negotiate. One thing, though, I have lived in MD for decades and NEVER seen a poisonous snake, not like I have out west or down south, and the VERY first outing on this stretch had us come across two copperheads within a half hour of each other, with the second sunning itself on the very strainer we had to pull the boats across and climb over ourselves. Other than that, add a couple of hours to any suggested trip durations, if the water is lower.... |
