This lake is so wonderful. If you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Anacostia River; going for a hike along the White Horse Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. Alter Pond gets a large amount of water; the month with most of the rain is May, and the driest       month is January. If you need a place to stay DC Laurel Red Roof Inn is a wonderful choice, and if you came to camp Scotts Cove Campground is a great location to do that. There's so much to do here at Alter Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Cherry Hill Park is a perfect place for that; if the weather is tremendous, you can go for a hike along the Western Ridge Trail. Little Patuxent River is a magnificent whitewater spot next to Alter Pond;                  while you're here you can take a hike along the Valley Trail. Yep, outdoors fun things to do are in fact plentiful here at Alter Pond. A striking lake like Blue Pond in the neighborhood of Alter Pond is a nice place to visit, and after a long day outdoors Holiday Inn WASHINGTON D.C.-GREENBELT MD is a nice spot to spend a night or two. At Alter Pond during the months of summer highs are in the 80's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 40's while Alter Pond nighttime low temperatures all through the winter are in the 20's. You truly have to fancy Alter Pond. Getting to Beck Branch from Alter Pond is uncomplicated, and do pay a visit to Greenbelt Park while you're here at Alter Pond. This lake is so wonderful.
