Do take a look at Winter Pond next to Woburn Reservoir, it's a wonderful lake; the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Bradford. Blue Hills is a very popular ski area close by, and if you need a location to stay Holiday Inn Select BOSTON-WOBURN is a good choice. This lake is so wonderful. Brooks-Parkhurst Town Forest is a pleasant local forest. There's so much to do here at Woburn Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Camp

| | Cedar is a fine location for that. Shaker Glen is close to Woburn Reservoir and is a great location, and at Woburn Reservoir you can catch a sight of Andrews Hill. This lake is so wonderful. There's always Horn Pond Dam to take a look at close to Woburn Reservoir, and don't forget to take a tremendous little tour to Aberjona River. Woburn Reservoir gets lots of water; November is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month of the year is August. | |

Horn Pond is a nearby lake that you could stop by, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Charles River. During your journey to Woburn Reservoir you'll meet some people from Boston-Cambridge-Quincy for sure; there are some tremendous
whitewater spots on Concord River. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this site. While you're here at Woburn Reservoir you can play some golf at Woburn Country Club, and a great close by hotel is Sierra Suites Woburn. Summertime
highs at Woburn Reservoir usually tend to be in the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 30's; winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Woburn Reservoir. Man, is there
lots of entertaining stuff to do next to Woburn Reservoir. Woburn Reservoir is magnificent enough to spend more than a day at, Camp Micah is a magnificent local campground, and if you have time to spare, Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area is a national park worth a visit.

Lake Cochichewick
 | 12 miles away Lake Cochichewick formerly known as Great Pond, is located near the inersections of rt 125 and Great Pond Road in North Andover MA. The lake is a little over 200 acres and long and narrow but widens quite a bit in the middle. The average depth near in the midde is about 40ft however the lake can reach depths of up to 60ft. The lake is a protected reservoir so fishing and boating are by town permit only. Swimming and gas moters are prohibited. Large and small mouth bass are in decent numbers as well as perch, pickerel, sunfish, also there is Northern Pike around but few have hooked up one in the summer season. Mercury level are fairly high so it is recomended to limit the consumption of fish to 1 meal a month. Most of the locals you will meet on the lake are all artificial bait, catch and release fisherman.... |
