I stayed there many years ago and loved it. Molly: I have a cottage on Widgeon Pond. Nice, quiet and relaxing pond with reasonable fishing. Swimming is nice but sometimes the water is really high, almost to the extent where there is no beach at all. Some people have small parties or gatherings, but there aren't any loud parties. Widgeon Pond is a wet location that gets lots of precipitation; through November this area sees the most rain, and June is the month with the least moisture. Pickerel Cove is in the neighborhood and always fine to stop by, and dry warm beds await you at John Carver Inn. Stephens Field Beach is in the vicinity of Widgeon Pond if you're in a beach type of mood, and Comfort Inn Plymouth is a glorious place to get some rest.       I don't want to stop, cause I'm havin' a tremendous time here at Widgeon Pond. Here at Widgeon Pond you can catch a glimpse of Federal Hill, and golf can be played at Southers Marsh Golf Club. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Ellis Haven Family Campground, and Myles Standish State Forest is a wonderful local forest. This lake is so wonderful. Federal Pond Dam is worth checking out if you're here, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody                  but if it's for you then, we recommend Cohasset Tidal Rip. Lakes are delightful; College Pond is a lake that's next to Widgeon Pond, and places like Kngs Pond Plain are delightful to explore. Enjoy a lazy day on the beach at Nelson Beach; you're most likely addicted to lakes, Federal Pond is one of those nearby. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Widgeon Pond. For the period of the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 60's. Highs during the wintertime are frequently in the 30's, and after the sun is down throughout the winter temperatures at Widgeon Pond descend into the 10's.
