You can take a little trip to Wampatuck Pond Dam since you're here at Wampatuck Pond, and a great location to camp here at Wampatuck Pond is Robins Pond Camp Ground. There are swamps here too; Little Cedar Swamp is in close proximity; golf can be played at Ridder Golf Course. Just can't get enough of Wampatuck Pond. Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area is one of the destinations in close proximity to Wampatuck Pond that are good to go to; at Wampatuck

| | Pond you always meet someone from Boston-Cambridge-Quincy. This lake is so wonderful. A gorgeous lake like Indian Head Pond close to Wampatuck Pond is a good place to visit, and the trees of Hanson Town Forest are a good source of shade on hot summer days. Cohasset Tidal Rip is a great whitewater spot close to Wampatuck Pond; the sight of Bonney Hill is striking. This lake is so wonderful. Pond, and Best Western Rockland is a good site to get some rest. Why not camp at Norwell Campsites while you're here at Wampatuck Pond; as expected Drinkwater River is a pretty stream that is worth taking a look at. Throughout
the summer here at Wampatuck Pond, high temperatures typically get into the 80's. Summer nighttime lows descend down to the 60's. All through the winter the highs are mostly in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here
at Wampatuck Pond. So much enjoyable stuff to do at Wampatuck Pond, so little time. Wampatuck Pond frequently gets a good deal of rain; most of the rain falls through November while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
Lakes are such calm places, why not go to Maquan Pond near Wampatuck Pond; if you need a spot to stay Comfort Inn Rockland is a good choice.

 | 13 miles away Ellis Haven was my summer vacation every year from 1957 to 1967. I'm 58 years old now and my best memories are of Ellis Haven. Looks like it's still a beautiful place to take a vacation....I have been going to Ellis Haven for 50 years. It is definately one of my favorite campgrounds. It is very family oriented and extremely clean. The pond is fabulous for swimming and great for fishing too.... |
Widgeon Pond
 | 15 miles away I was interested in a rental on Widgeon Pond. I stayed there many years ago and loved it....I have a cottage on Widgeon Pond. Nice, quiet and relaxing pond with reasonable fishing. Swimming is nice but sometimes the water is really high, almost to the extent where there is no beach at all. Some people have small parties or gatherings, but there aren't any loud parties. Very calming place to chill out.... |
