This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Quaboag River offers some magnificent whitewater; if you need a place to stay Comfort Inn & Suites Colonial is a perfect choice. If time allows, Quinebaug & Shetucket Rivers Valley National Heritage Corridor is a national park worth       stopping at; Scottish Inns Sturbridge is a great location to get some rest. For the period of the summer months, highs commonly are in the 80's at Walker Pond, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's; night lows at Walker Pond during the wintertime usually dip into the 10's. The peak of Walker Mountain can be observed from Walker Pond. Head up to Pine Ridge and strap some skis to your feet. There's so                  much to do here at Walker Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Yogi Bear's Sturbridge Jellystone Park is a perfect place for that. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Natchaug River, and Honey Brook is one of the streams nearby that might be worth stopping at. This lake is so wonderful.
