And if that's not enough, there's heaps more to do close to Venture Pond. Not far from Venture Pond you locate Dan Baker Cove, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Connecticut River. This lake is so wonderful. Schnelock Brook is a glorious site to visit. Playing golf is lots of       fun at Chicopee Country Club, and at Venture Pond you always meet someone from Springfield. Venture Pond mostly gets a great deal of rainfall; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest of the months is February. During the days of summer at Venture Pond temperatures are regularly in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 50's. All through the winter highs are in the 30's; night lows through the winter for Venture Pond tend to be                  in the 0's. After a long day outdoors Howard Johnson Express - Springfield is a great site to spend a night or two, and a good spot to camp here at Venture Pond is Del-aire Camping Resort. This lake is so wonderful. If you get bored of Venture Pond, you could also go to nearby Bass Pond, and there's whitewater on Farmington River for all you adrenaline kick people.
