    If you are traveling by, why not stop by Van Horn Reservoir. An afternoon playing golf at Orchards Golf Course Superintendant is always a joy, and you can go for a hike on the County Road Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Van Horn Park Lower Pond is a nearby lake that you could pop by, and there are plenty of people from Springfield here. Van Horn Reservoir sees pretty high levels of rainfall; through the month of May you get the most rain around here, and  
   the driest month of the year is January.
Going for a hike on the Richard Trail is always a nice adventure, and after a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Springfield-Downtown, Ma is a perfect spot to spend a night or two. Whohoo, so many amusing things in one place! Van Horn Reservoir is excellent! Near Van Horn Reservoir you hit upon the Link Trail which is a good hiking trail, and if you get bored of Van Horn Reservoir you could also explore nearby Van Horn
 
               Park Upper Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Sodom Mountain Campground, and there's whitewater on Farmington River for all you adrenaline kick people.
Van Horn Park Lower Dam has splendid water scenery and it's in the vicinity of Van Horn Reservoir, and Blandford has good slopes and a friendly staff. While you're here at Van Horn Reservoir you have to explore Big Island, and there are some good whitewater spots on Connecticut River. If you need a site to stay Marriott Springfield is a nice choice, and Van Horn Reservoir is a nice spot to visit for more than one day, Windy Acres Campground is a nice spot to camp nearby.
All the outdoors cool things in close proximity to Van Horn Reservoir will keep you coming back time and again. Abbey Brook is a pretty stream that is worth going to. All through the long summer days highs here at Van Horn Reservoir get into the 80's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's, and all through the dark hours in the wintertime at Van Horn Reservoir temperatures fall to the 0's.

My Mother was born in Easthampton-Wanat house near pond-Williston Ave. I am a former member of citizens restoring Congamond. There used to be a lot of fish - but now only bluegills -Millfoil is one of invasive weeds in pond. Pond over years has a lot of garbage thrown in it-used to swim there- would not dare now especially where beach used to be....

This is a nice little lake for fishing. Use minnows and you'll catch a lot of pickerel and bass. Worms bring in copious amounts of bluegill. It's a C/R lake....

Im here everyday besides wensday. on wensday they give uss off. don and ann are very nice people with a very nice store and very nice overpriced things inside there very nice store. soon they will mater building the roads and hopefuly next spring will be a very nice one. they have very clean and large sites and never are all the sites full so dont let them tell you there booked. if your looking for a nice peaceful time come durring the normal weekends but if your looking for lots of action well come on the major weekends. if your have any teens bring them because there are lots of very nice children in a drug-free enviroment. we have been her since the begining of time and for some reason where still here! the speed limits 5mph but I drive at around 12mph shhh....
