At Upper Shawme Lake you always meet someone from Barnstable Town, and the top of Elephantback Hill is easily seen from Upper Shawme Lake. High temperatures at Upper Shawme Lake all through the
summer are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 60's. All through the winter highs are in the 30's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Upper Shawme Lake temperatures fall to the 10's. Upper
Shawme Lake is a wet place that gets a large amount of precipitation; most of the rain falls during November while July is regularly the driest month.
