If only every site had this much outdoors amusing things, what a great world it would be. Russ Pond is a nearby lake that you could stop at, and camping is available at Wagon wheel Camping Area. The vista of Bassett Hill from Thompson Pond is gorgeous, and the snow is good at Pine Ridge. This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on Quaboag River is so much fun, and if       you're a golfer then a perfect close by course is Ellinwood Country Club Banquet Hall. A large amount of precipitation falls at Thompson Pond; May is the wettest month with most rain; February on the other hand is the driest. Looking for some flowing water? Try Bow Brook; whitewater paddling is good on Millers River. After a long day outdoors University Lodge is a wonderful location to spend a night or two, and a perfect spot to camp here at Thompson Pond                  is Lakeridge Campground. At Thompson Pond during the summertime highs are in the 80's while overnight lows are regularly in the 50's. For the period of the winter the highs are mostly in the 30's; overnight lows in the 0's for Thompson Pond.
