Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area is a great national park, and Thirtyacre Pond is not the only place close by, Cross Pond is a close by lake. This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Charles River offers some perfect whitewater, and camping at Canoe River Campground is always a brilliant experience. All       through the summertime months, highs frequently are in the 80's at Thirtyacre Pond. Throughout the moonlight hours it's usually in the 60's. During the winter highs are in the 30's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Thirtyacre Pond plunge into the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. The snow is brilliant at Blue Hills; dry warm beds await you at Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, Brockton (Boston). And if that's not sufficient, there's                  loads more to do in the neighborhood of Thirtyacre Pond. Here at Thirtyacre Pond you'll perhaps meet some people from Boston-Cambridge-Quincy, and not far from Thirtyacre Pond you acquire some wonderful water scenery at Lower Porter Pond Dam. Thirtyacre Pond is a wet place that gets much precipitation; November is when you get the most rain here; June is when it's the driest. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Cohasset Tidal Rip; do stop by Beaver Brook if you're here at Thirtyacre Pond.
