It's always delightful to go to Tannery Falls, and The Porches Inn at MASS MoCA is a good place to get some rest. Tannery Pond gets a typical amount of rainfall; most of the rain falls through August, and February is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. There's a forest here at Tannery Pond called Florida State Forest; if you're into cool geologic features try Serpentine       Ledge. A gorgeous lake like Burnett Pond right next door to Tannery Pond is a tremendous place to explore, and there are some tremendous whitewater spots on Cold River. What a place this is for outdoors folks. There's some flowing water close by, Baker Brook is a stream you can stop at during your stay, and Lewis Hill is clearly visible from Tannery Pond. Bog Pond is a great lake near Tannery Pond, and camping at Clarksburg State Park is always a good experience.                  Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining things right next door to Tannery Pond. If you need a place to stay Holiday Inn Berkshires, Ma is a nice choice; since you're here you can take a hike along the Busby Trail. This lake is so wonderful. A day on the slopes of Berkshire East is just what you need, and the Thunderbolt Ski Trail is a tremendous hiking trail close by. If you came to camp Shady Pines Campground is a brilliant spot to do that, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Deerfield River. The skiing at Mount Greylock Ski Club is great, and if the weather is fine, you can go for a hike along the Dunbar Brook Trail. All through the long summer days at Tannery Pond highs are generally in the 70's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 50's.
