Swains Pond is perfect enough to spend more than a day at, Tynsborough Campground is a perfect local campground, and there are other places here than Swains Pond, for example Stony Brook Reservoir. Summertime highs at Swains Pond typically tend to be in the 80's while night lows are frequently in the 50's. Campground is a nice place for that, and after a long day outdoors Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Chelmsford/Lowell is a magnificent site to spend a night or two. The top of Potash Hill is easily seen from Swains Pond, and there are plenty
of people from Manchester-Nashua here at Swains Pond. A tour to Scotty Hollow is always fun; swamps can be such attention-grabbing places, stop by Tyngs Swamp since you're here at Swains Pond. This place, Swains Pond, it absolutely
has so much outdoors cool stuff. Playing golf is lots of fun at Nabnasset Lake Country Club. Yeah, come here to Swains Pond for a glorious time. Paddling on Assabet River is so much fun; a spree to Swains Pond wouldn't be complete
without taking a look at Wicassic Falls. A large amount of rainfall falls at Swains Pond; the wettest month of the year is frequently November, that's the one that rains the most, and September on the other hand is the driest.

Locust Pond
 | 1 PHOTO Locust Pond is a lake that was formed in 1954 by the creation of the Locust Pond Dam on Locust Brook, which flows from the Locust Pond to the larger Merrimack River. Locust Pond is considered a lake because Mass Regs (310 CMR 10.04) state that a lake is ?any open body of fresh water with a surface area of ten acres or more, and shall include great ponds. The site is bordered by Locust Avenue and light residential development to the northwest, and Route 3 to the southwest. The other half of the perimeter is bordered by dense development. The pond is mostly open water with no emergent marsh development. The upland is all forested. The habitat quality of this site is limited by the development surrounding it, however, it should provide at least transient habitat for aquatic mammals such as beaver, otter, and mink, and many of the upland mammals and migratory songbirds of forested habitats.... |
