A good panorama of scenic Beacon Hill is available from Storrow Lagoon; if you want to hit the beach, Malibu Beach is in close proximity. If time allows, Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area is a national park worth a visit, and since you're here, you could also visit pretty Frog Pond. Franklin Park Golf Course is a golf course close to Storrow Lagoon. Why not stop by Bartons Point also since you're here; Blue Hills is a great local ski area. You

slopes of Bradford are so inviting nobody can resist, and Charles River Basin is a nearby lake that you could stop at. This lake is so wonderful. You can run the rapids of Charles River next to Storrow Lagoon, and why not camp at
Camp Micah while you're here at Storrow Lagoon. If you need a place to stay Oakwood at Exeter Towers is a wonderful choice; there are swamps here too, Back Bay Fens is in the neighborhood. Storrow Lagoon ordinarily gets lots of
precipitation; the month of November is the wettest with most of the rain while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. This is a popular place for people from Boston-Cambridge-Quincy; you can take a little visit to Charles River Dam if you're here at Storrow Lagoon.

Lake Cochichewick
 | 17 miles away Lake Cochichewick formerly known as Great Pond, is located near the inersections of rt 125 and Great Pond Road in North Andover MA. The lake is a little over 200 acres and long and narrow but widens quite a bit in the middle. The average depth near in the midde is about 40ft however the lake can reach depths of up to 60ft. The lake is a protected reservoir so fishing and boating are by town permit only. Swimming and gas moters are prohibited. Large and small mouth bass are in decent numbers as well as perch, pickerel, sunfish, also there is Northern Pike around but few have hooked up one in the summer season. Mercury level are fairly high so it is recomended to limit the consumption of fish to 1 meal a month. Most of the locals you will meet on the lake are all artificial bait, catch and release fisherman.... |
