There's so much to do here at Spy Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Camp Micah is a glorious place for that, and everybody close by loves skiing at Bradford. Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area is a splendid national park, and a lake nearby is Perch Pond. Summertime highs at Spy Pond commonly tend to be in the 80's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. For the period of the wintertime this place gets highs in the

| | 30's while the cold winter nights at Spy Pond are in the 10's. If you come at the right time of year, Charles River offers some pleasant whitewater; Brooks-Parkhurst Town Forest is a delightful local forest. Now, you may assume that's a load but there's even more amusing stuff to do here at Spy Pond. A day at Magazine Beach near Spy Pond is time well spent, and Andrews Hill can be seen from Spy Pond. nearby, Little Pond is a nearby lake. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Spy Pond has to offer, you can camp at Camp Cedar. You're sure to stumble upon some smiling people from Boston-Cambridge-Quincy here, and
after a long day outdoors Best Western Hotel Tria is a fine place to spend a night or two. Spy Pond sees pretty high levels of rain; during November this area sees the most rain, and August is the month with the least moisture. You
can take a little journey to Upper Mystic Lake Dam since you're here at Spy Pond; Blue Hills is a pleasant local ski area. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this location. A golf course near Spy Pond is Fresh Pond Golf Course,
and some of the water nearby flows, like Aberjona River. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Concord River, and dry warm beds await you at Homewood Suites by Hilton CambridgeArlington.

Lake Cochichewick
 | 15 miles away Lake Cochichewick formerly known as Great Pond, is located near the inersections of rt 125 and Great Pond Road in North Andover MA. The lake is a little over 200 acres and long and narrow but widens quite a bit in the middle. The average depth near in the midde is about 40ft however the lake can reach depths of up to 60ft. The lake is a protected reservoir so fishing and boating are by town permit only. Swimming and gas moters are prohibited. Large and small mouth bass are in decent numbers as well as perch, pickerel, sunfish, also there is Northern Pike around but few have hooked up one in the summer season. Mercury level are fairly high so it is recomended to limit the consumption of fish to 1 meal a month. Most of the locals you will meet on the lake are all artificial bait, catch and release fisherman.... |
