Upper Spectacle Pond Dam is worth checking out while you're here, and paddling on Farmington River - West Branch is so much fun. There are perfect spots to look at along the Wild Cat Trail, and Ski Butternut is a very popular ski area in close proximity. You're sure to come across some smiling people from Pittsfield here, and Spectacle Ponds is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, Camp Overflow is a delightful local campground. This lake is so wonderful.

| | Camping at Mountain View Campground is always a tremendous experience, and needless to say Spectacle Pond Brook flows through this vicinity. Hit the slopes at Otis Ridge close by, and Geisler Swamp is a swamp close to Spectacle Ponds. All the water falling down from the sky makes Spectacle Ponds a wet place; August is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month is January. Lakes are great; Upper Spectacle Pond is a lake that's in the neighborhood | |

of Spectacle Ponds; a brilliant nearby hotel is Pilgrim Inn. Be careful coming to Spectacle Ponds, you might not ever wanna return home again. If you need a place to stay Super 8 Lee/Berkshires/Outlet Area is a good choice, and
pleasant hiking is available along the Richard Trail. There's just no way someone can get bored here at Spectacle Ponds. Not far from Spectacle Ponds, you'll discover Lower Spectacle Pond which is a stunning lake; Allen Mountain is
painless to spot from Spectacle Ponds. This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the County Road Trail; drift down the rapids of Fall River in a kayak. High temperatures at Spectacle Ponds through the days of summer are in the
80's. Summer nighttime lows plunge down to the 50's. For the duration of the winter the highs are generally in the 30's, and overnight lows during the wintertime for Spectacle Ponds tend to be in the 10's.
