Everybody nearby loves skiing at Blue Hills, and this is a popular location for folks from Boston-Cambridge-Quincy. There's a forest here at South Reservoir called Brooks-Parkhurst Town Forest; if you need a place to stay Hyatt Place Boston Medford is a glorious choice. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at South Reservoir you can play some golf at Stoneham Oaks Golf Course, and hey, Gotta ski right? Bradford is a good place to do that. South Reservoir

Reservoir that you can explore, and a tour to Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area is worthwhile. There's some flowing water close by, Aberjona River is a stream you can pop by while here, and Charles River has a fine whitewater
paddling spot nearby. Whitewater paddling is glorious on Concord River, and Wrights Pond is a nearby lake that you could stop by. The high level of precipitation makes South Reservoir a rather wet site; the month with most of
the rain is November, and August on the other hand is the driest. There's some interesting stuff to distinguish at South Reservoir Dam near South Reservoir, and swamps like Turkey Swamp close to South Reservoir make for great places
to pop by. This lake is so wonderful. At South Reservoir all through the warm months highs are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 60's. Daytime highs throughout the wintertime are in the 30's, and
night lows in the 10's for South Reservoir. All the outdoors fun things close to South Reservoir will keep you coming back time and again. You'll need more than a day to look at everything South Reservoir has to offer, you can camp at Camp Micah, and since you're here, you could also pop by beautiful Middle Reservoir.

Lake Cochichewick
 | 13 miles away Lake Cochichewick formerly known as Great Pond, is located near the inersections of rt 125 and Great Pond Road in North Andover MA. The lake is a little over 200 acres and long and narrow but widens quite a bit in the middle. The average depth near in the midde is about 40ft however the lake can reach depths of up to 60ft. The lake is a protected reservoir so fishing and boating are by town permit only. Swimming and gas moters are prohibited. Large and small mouth bass are in decent numbers as well as perch, pickerel, sunfish, also there is Northern Pike around but few have hooked up one in the summer season. Mercury level are fairly high so it is recomended to limit the consumption of fish to 1 meal a month. Most of the locals you will meet on the lake are all artificial bait, catch and release fisherman.... |
