If you're looking for a beach next to South Pond, we recommend Babbs Beach, and you'll meet a lot of people from Hartford-West Hartford-East Hartford here. Farmington River is a magnificent whitewater spot in the vicinity of South Pond, also Congamond Lakes Middle Dike is worth visiting while you're here. This lake is so wonderful. Golden Acres Campground       is a wonderful local campground; swamps are exciting locations and Beaverdam Marsh near South Pond is no exception. And if you're still looking for more outdoors fun stuff just keep reading. A stunning lake like Limon Pond close to South Pond is a great spot to explore, and Ski Sundown is a good local ski area. Near South Pond you locate a golf course called Edgewood Golf Course, and Southwick Acres Campground is a brilliant campground nearby. And if that's                  not enough, there's lots more to do close to South Pond. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Blandford is near South Pond, and do stop by Arnold Pond, it's a pretty lake. If you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Little River, and let's not forget Mountain Brook which is a stream that you may bump into while here. South Pond is a quite wet place mostly with a lot of rainfall; through May this area sees the most rain while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. The peak of Manitook Mountain can be seen from South Pond, and Dutch Iris Inn, The is a delightful spot to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. If the weather is great here at South Pond, you can go for a hike along the Link Trail. Going for a hike along the County Road Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity, and dry warm beds await you at Elm Motel. High temperatures at South Pond throughout the summertime are in the 80's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's.
