A lake close       by is Stump Hill; everyone nearby loves skiing at Wachusett Mountain. Man, is there heaps of amusing stuff to do close to Smiths Pond. All our national parks are splendid spots to take a look at, and Quinebaug & Shetucket Rivers Valley National Heritage Corridor is no exception, and if you're here you can take a hike along the Border Trail. This lake is so wonderful. The slopes of Pine Ridge are so inviting nobody can resist, and a round of golf at nearby                  Green Hill Golf Course is a good way to kill some time. All through the summertime months here at Smiths Pond, high temperatures ordinarily reach the 70's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Smiths Pond plunge into the 0's. The panorama of Deadhorse Hill from Smiths Pond is lovely, and La Quinta Inn Auburn Worcester is a great spot to get some rest.
