This lake is so wonderful. You'll hit upon a scenic lake called Coes Pond near Smith Pond, and nearby you hit upon the Munyan Trail which is a delightful hiking trail. A wonderful close by hotel is Emerald Towers; you can never get enough of the nice skiing at Pine Ridge. That right there is a heap already, but it continues; Smith Pond has it all. Why not spend some time golfing at a close by golf course like Green Hill Golf       Course, and going for a hike on the Ross Trail is always a tremendous adventure. Skiing at Wachusett Mountain is one of those things you just have to do, and there are fine locations to explore along the Border Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Smith Pond is nice fun, Wood Lot Campground is a nice local campground, and why not check out Patch Reservoir Dam since you're here. This is no location for people who don’t like to have fun. Throughout                  the summer months highs here at Smith Pond reach the 70's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. For the period of the winter the highs are frequently in the 30's; all through the dark hours in the wintertime at Smith Pond temperatures drop to the 0's. Smith Pond is not far at all from Worcester, and Smith Pond is a splendid place to camp, Sutton Falls Camping Area is a splendid place. You can spot Moreland Hill from Smith Pond, and Quinebaug & Shetucket Rivers Valley National Heritage Corridor is a very perfect site to explore. A short spree to The Cascade is always worthwhile, and after a long day outdoors Comfort Inn Auburn is a fine place to spend a night or two.
