Swamps like Cedar Swamp are fun to check out; Rodeway Inn Willington is a nice location to get some rest. Camping is available at Sunsetview Farm Camping Area, and if you want to play some golf, you're in luck because Valhalla at Quaboag Country Club is in the vicinity. But wait, there's more to do close to Smith Pond. There's some interesting stuff to catch a glimpse of at Calkins Pond Lower Dam       right next door to Smith Pond. Lakes are great; Lake Mark is a lake that's in close proximity to Smith Pond. Smith Pond gets a large amount of water; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain; the driest month of the year is February. Summertime highs at Smith Pond usually tend to be in the 80's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 60's. Daytime highs all through the winter are in the 30's with temperatures                  at Smith Pond dipping down into the 10's all through winter nights. A pleasant location for whitewater paddling near Smith Pond is Quaboag River, and dry warm beds await you at Wilbraham Inn. In case you don’t mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Natchaug River, and a magnificent spot to camp here at Smith Pond is Partridge Hollow Campground. Some nearby water includes Sawmill Brook, and Peaked Mountain is painless to spot from Smith Pond. This lake is so wonderful. This is a great region for people who like lakes.
