You'll hit upon a stunning lake called Calkins Pond near Smith Pond, and Wilbraham Inn is a nice place to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. There's some interesting stuff to see at Calkins Pond Lower Dam in the neighborhood of Smith Pond, and don't forget to take a good little trip to Sawmill Brook. High temperatures at Smith Pond all through the long summer days are in the 80's, and all through summer nights temperatures       are in the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Smith Pond plunge into the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. In the event that you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Quaboag River. There's just no way anybody can get bored here at Smith Pond. If you came for an overnight stay Sunsetview Farm Camping Area is a wonderful site to camp; a golf course close                  by is Valhalla at Quaboag Country Club. Camping is available at Partridge Hollow Campground, and if you need a place to stay Rodeway Inn Willington is a great choice. Natchaug River has a wonderful whitewater paddling spot nearby, and take a look at close by Cedar Swamp. Smith Pond generally gets a great deal of rain; May is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest of the months is February.
