Nearby lakes? Sure, Goodfellow Pond is near Simonds Pond, and splendid hiking is available along the Mitchell Hill Road. If you're interested in hydro structures, you can have a look at Goodfellow Pond Dam, and Maplewood Golf Course is a nice golf course close by. Head up to Wachusett Mountain and strap some skis to your feet; whitewater paddling       is good on Stony Brook. This lake is so wonderful. If you don't mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Souhegan River; if you're here you will meet lots of people from nearby Worcester. Simonds Pond gets lots of water; November is when you get the most rain here, and September meanwhile is the driest month. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Simonds Pond has to offer, you can camp at Plaza Court Motel and                  Campgrounds; hey, Sand Brook is a magnificent local stream. This lake is so wonderful. You could also stop by Sumond Pond while you're here at Simonds Pond; it's nearby, and at Simonds Pond you can see Carter Hill. No way I can stop, cause I'm havin' a good time here at Simonds Pond. Four Points By Sheraton Leominster is a great location to get some rest, and Simonds Pond is a perfect place to visit for more than one day, Pine Campgrounds is a perfect place to camp nearby. Now, you may imagine that's a load but there's even more exciting stuff to do here at Simonds Pond. During the summer months highs here at Simonds Pond reach the 70's. Summer overnight lows dip down to the 50's.
