Silver Lake is not the only spot close by, Goodrich Pond is a close by lake, and hiking along the Brickhouse Mountain Trail is pleasant fun. This lake is so wonderful. Near Silver Lake you hit upon great places like Pontoosuc School, and Silver Lake is a good place to visit for more than one day, Bonnie Brae Cabins and Campsites is a good place to camp nearby.
