Beautiful Shawme Lake has much to offer visitors. A lot of rainfall falls at Shawme Lake; most of the rain falls all through November, and the driest of the months is July. If you're popping by Shawme Lake from Barnstable Town, you won't be the only one, and if you're a golfer then a good close by course is Sandwich Hollows Golf Club. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a site to stay Dan'l Webster Inn is a great choice, and a great swamp close to Shawme

This lake is so wonderful. Scusset Beach is near Shawme Lake if you're in a beach type of mood. Lakes? Sure, Doughnut Pond is in the vicinity. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the amusing things at Shawme Lake. Dunroamin' Trailer Park is a tremendous campground nearby, and Belfry Inn is a perfect place to get some rest. High temperatures at Shawme Lake during the summer months are in the 80's; all through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 30's with temperatures
at Shawme Lake dipping down into the 10's through winter nights. Shawme Lake is a great place to visit for more than one day, Peters Pond Park is a great place to camp nearby, and you don’t have to go far from Shawme Lake to see the
water at East Boat Basin. No way I can stop, cause I'm havin' a great time here at Shawme Lake. Shawme-Crowell State Forest is a magnificent forest vicinity in close proximity to Shawme Lake.
A tour to Cemetery Point in the vicinity
of Shawme Lake is always a great idea, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always pop by close by Upper Shawme Lake. If you want to hit the beach, Town Beach is nearby, and one of the dominant traits of the surroundings of Shawme Lake is Elephantback Hill.

 | It's a cool campground to go to but if you like to stay out late stay away because they come around at like ten and make everyone go bad to their own camp sites and you can't stay at that play ground. And if you don't go back to your campsite when they make their second rounds the rangers chase you on golf carts. Which is pretty fun because you have to out run them. But everything else is pretty chill.... |

I was interested in a rental on Widgeon Pond. I stayed there many years ago and loved it....I have a cottage on Widgeon Pond. Nice, quiet and relaxing pond with reasonable fishing. Swimming is nice but sometimes the water is really high, almost to the extent where there is no beach at all. Some people have small parties or gatherings, but there aren't any loud parties. Very calming place to chill out.... |

Ellis Haven was my summer vacation every year from 1957 to 1967. I'm 58 years old now and my best memories are of Ellis Haven. Looks like it's still a beautiful place to take a vacation....I have been going to Ellis Haven for 50 years. It is definately one of my favorite campgrounds. It is very family oriented and extremely clean. The pond is fabulous for swimming and great for fishing too.... |
