It's always fun to stop by Shatterack Pond. If the weather is great here at Shatterack Pond, you can go for a hike along the Link Trail; Shatterack Pond is fine enough to spend more than a day at, Laurel Ridge Camping Area is a fine local campground. from Shatterack Pond.
If you need a place to stay Elm Motel is a great choice; there are some good whitewater spots on Westfield River - North Branch. This lake is so wonderful. Westfield Reservoir Dam is worth checking out since
you're here, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Westfield River. Shatterack Pond ordinarily gets a great deal of rain; during May this area sees the most rain while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
What a place this is for outdoors folks. While you're here at Shatterack Pond, you could also take a look at delightful Westfield Reservoir, and there are plenty of folks from Springfield here. You can never get enough of the great skiing at Berkshire East, and nearby you find the County Road Trail which is a fine hiking trail.
