Second Pond is always a pleasure to visit. Griswold Pond Dam is a site that is next to Second Pond, and what would winter be without some skiing at Blue Hills. Nearby lakes? Sure, Stevens Pond is near Second Pond, and drift down the rapids of Charles River in a kayak. The warmest time of the year at Second Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. This lake is so wonderful. Nothing beats kicking back at Revere Beach, and if you're going to from Boston-Cambridge-Quincy, you won't be the only one. in the great outdoors, just come on down to Second Pond. The view of pretty Eagle Rock near Second Pond is tremendous; Second Pond is a wonderful site to visit for more than one day, Lorraine Park Campground is a wonderful site to
camp nearby.
Enjoy a lazy day on the beach at Orient Heights Beach, and playing golf is lots of fun at Bellevue Golf Club. This lake is so wonderful. You could also go to Long Pond since you're here at Second Pond; it's nearby,
and if you need a site to stay Courtyard By Marriott Boston/Revere is a good choice.
Some of the water close by flows, like Bennetts Pond Brook; if you're looking for a pleasant spree, Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation
Area is relatively near. Second Pond sees pretty high levels of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is November, and the driest month of the year is August. Swamps don’t sound that good but Richs Meadow Swamp in close proximity to Second Pond is quite good, and Prospect Lake Park is a perfect local campground.
