If you need a place to stay Econo Lodge Malden is a pleasant choice, and if you're looking for a fine trip, Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area is relatively near. If you're interested in hydro structures, you can stop at Griswold Pond Dam, and a tremendous nearby hotel is Courtyard Boston Revere/Saugus. Through the summertime highs here at Second Pond get into the 80's while night lows are usually in the 60's. Daytime highs through the wintertime

| | are in the 30's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Second Pond temperatures drop to the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. What would winter be without some skiing at Blue Hills; camping is available at Prospect Lake Park. There are other spots here than Second Pond, for example First Pond; the good folks of Boston-Cambridge-Quincy like to hang out close by. This lake is so wonderful. and why not camp at Lorraine Park Campground since you're here at Second Pond. Any time is a glorious time at Second Pond if you like the outdoors. Eagle Rock is clearly visible from Second Pond; nothing beats kicking back at
Orient Heights Beach. Not far from Second Pond, you'll come across Long Pond which is a stunning lake; in the neighborhood of Second Pond you stumble on a golf course called Bellevue Golf Club. There's just no way anyone can get bored
here at Second Pond. Revere Beach is a beach in the vicinity of Second Pond that you can check out; hey, Gotta ski right? Bradford is a great location to do that. Richs Meadow Swamp is an attention-grabbing swamp in the vicinity
of Second Pond; paddling on Charles River is so much fun. All the water falling down from the sky makes Second Pond a wet site; of all the months in a year November is the one with the most rain while August is the month with the least amount of precipitation.

Lake Cochichewick
 | 13 miles away Lake Cochichewick formerly known as Great Pond, is located near the inersections of rt 125 and Great Pond Road in North Andover MA. The lake is a little over 200 acres and long and narrow but widens quite a bit in the middle. The average depth near in the midde is about 40ft however the lake can reach depths of up to 60ft. The lake is a protected reservoir so fishing and boating are by town permit only. Swimming and gas moters are prohibited. Large and small mouth bass are in decent numbers as well as perch, pickerel, sunfish, also there is Northern Pike around but few have hooked up one in the summer season. Mercury level are fairly high so it is recomended to limit the consumption of fish to 1 meal a month. Most of the locals you will meet on the lake are all artificial bait, catch and release fisherman.... |
