Massachusetts has many beautiful lakes and Scout Pond is one of them. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Scout Pond; Richard Trail is a good local trail, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Westfield River - North Branch. This lake is so wonderful. A magnificent place to camp here at Scout Pond is Berkshire Park Camping Area; if you come at the right time of year, Swift River offers some nice whitewater. So
much fun stuff to do at Scout Pond, so little time. A day on the slopes of Blandford is just what you need, and if you need a spot to stay Autumn Inn is a good choice.
This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at Peppermint Park Camping Resort since you're here at Scout Pond, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always pop by nearby Long Pond. Don't forget to take a brilliant little spree to Baker Brook, and why not take a refreshing hike

               along the Link Trail.
Swamps can be such exciting spots, go to Dead Swamp if you're here at Scout Pond, and wonderful hiking is available along the Spring Trail. For the period of the warm days of summer highs here at Scout Pond get into the 70's while overnight lows are mostly in the 50's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Scout Pond. Here at Scout Pond you can catch a glimpse of Bofat Hill, and obviously, this is a tremendous region for folks who like lakes, Hammond Pond is a lake close by.
The snow is great at Berkshire East; The Hotel Northampton is a nice place to get some rest. Just can't get enough of Scout Pond. A pleasant trip to Fisk Meadow is a great way to spend an afternoon; if you're popping by from Springfield, you won't be the only one. Lots of rain falls at Scout Pond; the wettest month of the year is generally November, that's the one that rains the most while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.

Walker Island Camping
13 miles away
The staff at Walker Island was very friendly. There were many faucets located near campsites, and an outhouse, and an outlet in some sites. Our sites were located by the brook which on the other side is a busy road that large trucks occasionally rumble by. The pool was 5ft deep, compared to the 'small beach' which is literally a pile of sand plopped by the brook. No swimming in this beach. The arrow pointing to the spring is really a spring hung on a tree. Not so funny when your vacation hopes were to swim in some natural waters. Hiking may be difficult to find ask for directions....
