Prankers Pond is a glorious lake right next door to Scotts Pond, and a swamp like Pines River Marshes in the neighborhood of Scotts Pond has lots of out of the ordinary things to see. This lake is so wonderful. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Cohasset Tidal Rip, and why not head up to Blue Hills and strap some skis to your feet. If you want to hit the beach, Orient Heights Beach is in close proximity; Bradford is a very popular ski area in close proximity.

| | If you adore the outdoors, you'll like Scotts Pond. If you need a place to stay Holiday Inn Express SAUGUS (LOGAN AIRPORT) is a great choice; dry warm beds await you at Days Inn Saugus Logan Airport. There's so much to do here at Scotts Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Prospect Lake Park is a great location for that, and a picturesque lake like Walden Pond is a tremendous place to pop by. you will meet lots of folks from close by Boston-Cambridge-Quincy, and you should beyond doubt go to striking Revere Beach since you're here. Scotts Pond is fine enough to spend more than a day at, Lorraine Park Campground is
a fine local campground, and why not take a little tour to Beaver Brook while you're here. This is no place for people who don’t like to have fun. From Scotts Pond you get a pleasant sight of Baker Hill, and the views at Boston Harbor
Islands National Recreation Area will blow your mind. Scotts Pond is a wet spot that gets a good deal of rain; through November this area sees the most rain, and August is when it's the driest. A round of golf at nearby Cedar
Glen Golf Course is a great way to kill some time, and Walden Pond Outlet Dam has great water scenery. All through the summertime, highs generally are in the 80's at Scotts Pond, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's, and nighttime lows in the 10's for Scotts Pond.

Lake Cochichewick
 | 13 miles away Lake Cochichewick formerly known as Great Pond, is located near the inersections of rt 125 and Great Pond Road in North Andover MA. The lake is a little over 200 acres and long and narrow but widens quite a bit in the middle. The average depth near in the midde is about 40ft however the lake can reach depths of up to 60ft. The lake is a protected reservoir so fishing and boating are by town permit only. Swimming and gas moters are prohibited. Large and small mouth bass are in decent numbers as well as perch, pickerel, sunfish, also there is Northern Pike around but few have hooked up one in the summer season. Mercury level are fairly high so it is recomended to limit the consumption of fish to 1 meal a month. Most of the locals you will meet on the lake are all artificial bait, catch and release fisherman.... |
