If the weather is pleasant here at Round Pond, you can go for a hike along the Link Trail, and while you're here, you could also visit pretty Doe Pond. This is a popular spot for people from Springfield, and do visit Buck Pond, it's a charming lake. Golf can be played at East Mountain Country Club. At Round Pond through the warmest time of the year highs are in the 80's, and the nighttime is fairly cooler of course, typically in the 50's. The wintertime comes

Camping at Sodom Mountain Campground is always a magnificent experience, and close by you come across the County Road Trail which is a glorious hiking trail. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the amusing stuff at Round Pond. If you come at the right time of year, Connecticut River offers some tremendous whitewater, and if you came to camp | |

Windy Acres Campground is a delightful spot to do that. You can never get enough of the great skiing at Blandford, and after a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites WESTFIELD is a great spot to spend a night or two.
Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Little River, and Horse Pond Dam is not far at all from Round Pond. Round Pond is a relatively wet place mostly with much rain; May is the month that gets
the most rain, and January meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Econo Lodge Inn & Suites is a fine place to get some rest, and the Richard Trail is a nice hiking trail close by.

Walker Island Camping
 | 19 miles away The staff at Walker Island was very friendly. There were many faucets located near campsites, and an outhouse, and an outlet in some sites. Our sites were located by the brook which on the other side is a busy road that large trucks occasionally rumble by. The pool was 5ft deep, compared to the 'small beach' which is literally a pile of sand plopped by the brook. No swimming in this beach. The arrow pointing to the spring is really a spring hung on a tree. Not so funny when your vacation hopes were to swim in some natural waters. Hiking may be difficult to find ask for directions.... |
