     Massachusetts has many beautiful lakes and Root Pond is one of them. If you need a location to stay Chambery Inn is a pleasant choice; nearby you hit upon the Northrop Trail which is a splendid hiking trail. The Indian Trail is a splendid hiking trail near Root Pond, and Vossburg Hill is painless to spot from Root Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Taconic State Park Copake Falls is a good campground nearby; during your journey here you'll meet some folks from  
   Pittsfield for sure.
A charming lake like Berkshire Heights Reservoir close to Root Pond is a fine location to go to, and some of the water close by flows, like Long Pond Brook. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Great Barrington Days Inn; on a magnificent day you can take a hike along the Elbow Trail. You simply should have a thing about Root Pond. You'll discover a gorgeous lake called Mill Pond near Root Pond.
Root Pond is a good
 
               site of normal rainfall; May is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month is February. For the duration of the warmest time of the year here at Root Pond, high temperatures mostly reach the 80's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 50's. Throughout the winter the highs are mostly in the 30's; winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Root Pond. Catamount is a glorious local ski area; get your pulse rate up on the brilliant whitewater of Konkapot Brook.
There's whitewater on Bash Bish Brook for all you thrill seekers, and why not spend some time golfing at a close by golf course like Egremont Country Club. Yep, outdoors fun stuff to do are truly bountiful here at Root Pond. Camp Half Moon is a fine local campground, and if you like skiing, you're in luck; Ski Butternut is quite near.
