Nearby lakes? Sure, Berkshire Heights Reservoir is in the vicinity of Root Pond, and going for a hike on the Elbow Trail is always a good adventure. Whohoo, so much entertaining stuff in one place! Root Pond is peerless! Stay the night at Camp Half Moon, and dry warm beds await you at Days Inn Great Barrington. This lake is so wonderful. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Bash Bish Brook; the top of Vossburg Hill is easily seen from Root Pond. Root Pond gets

| | a normal amount of rain; most of the rain falls through May, and February meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. There are tremendous sites to discover along the Indian Trail, and if you need a place to stay Chambery Inn is a perfect choice. There are some delightful whitewater spots on Konkapot Brook, and you can go for a hike on the Northrop Trail. This is a pleasant vicinity for people who like lakes. Mill Pond is a lake close by. | |

There's so much to do here at Root Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Taconic State Park Copake Falls is a magnificent place for that. All the outdoors exciting stuff close to Root Pond will keep you coming back over
and over. People from Pittsfield love to come to Root Pond. Playing golf is lots of fun at Egremont Country Club, and the snow is delightful at Catamount. The warmest time of the year at Root Pond comes with high temperatures in the
80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 30's, and night lows in the 10's for Root Pond. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Ski Butternut, and naturally Long Pond Brook is a striking stream that is worth stopping at.
