     The scenery at Bents Pond Dam near Ramsdall Pond is gorgeous; if you're here you can take a hike along the Parker Trail. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Ramsdall Pond has to offer, you can camp at Howe's Camping, and on a tremendous day you can take a hike along the White Dot Trail. The high level of rain makes Ramsdall Pond a reasonably wet spot; August is when you get the most rain here while February is regularly  
   the driest month. Just can't get enough of Ramsdall Pond. There's whitewater on Millers River for all you adrenaline people; if you want to play some golf, you're in luck because Gardner Municipal Golf Course is close by.
Stay the night at Peaceful Pines, and the sight of striking Barber Hill is brilliant. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes are such peaceful locations, why not take a look at Travers Pond close to Ramsdall Pond, and dry warm beds await you
 
               at Colonial Hotel. Ramsdall Pond is not far at all from Worcester, and going for a hike along the Harling Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood.
If you like skiing, you're in luck; Pine Ridge is near Ramsdall Pond; why not take a little journey to Baker Brook if you're here. A day on the slopes of Wachusett Mountain is just what you need, and there are other spots here than Ramsdall Pond, for example Shiner Pond.
Through the warmest time of the year highs here at Ramsdall Pond get into the 80's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 50's. For the period of the wintertime the highs are typically in the 30's with temperatures at Ramsdall Pond dipping down into the 0's through winter nights. But wait, there's more to do close to Ramsdall Pond. You can run the rapids of Contoocook River in the neighborhood of Ramsdall Pond; after a long day outdoors Super 8 Gardner is a wonderful place to spend a night or two.

Canoe rentals, rod rental and bait, beach and a pool, good hiking trails ( with wild bluberries and blackberries). Most important clean bathrooms nothing worse than a camp ground with crappy facilities (forgive the pun)..Ben a couple of times great place!!...

Ahhh good ol Heywood's used to be a great lake for swimming with rope swings that threw you out 80 feet into the water. but since then many things have changed people caught on to the fun nites out there , and police started showing up and now the whole place ''all the trees'' have been cut down  above the apple orchard, so no swimming there or you will be hit with a fine of up to 500$...

Average depth of about 10 feet with some spots over 15 ft. Mostly year round homes with some of the old summer cottages still being used. The resevoir covers area in both Spencer & Leicester....
